Q. What are the fees and charges we can expect when selling cattle through Sullivan Livestock?

A. Gympie Meatworks & Liveweight Store Sales
AGENT FEES
Commission: 5% + GST
Reading Fee: $1.00 + GST per head

COUNCIL YARD DUES
Liveweight Sales $4.82 + GST per head
* Dipping (If applicable) $1.60 + GST per head

GOVT. FEES
Govt Trans Levy: $5.00 (NO GST) per head

Gympie Pig & Calf Sales
AGENT FEES
Commission: 5% + GST
Reading Fee: $1.00 + GST per head

* Dipping (If applicable) $1.50 + GST per head

GOVT. FEES
Calves: less than 60kg $0.90c (NO GST) per head
more than 60kg $5.00 (NO GST) per head
Sheep: $0.20c (NO GST) per head
Goats: $0.38c (NO GST) per head

Woolooga Sales
AGENT FEES
Commission: 5% + GST
Reading Fee: $1.00 + GST per head

Yard Dues $3.25 + GST per head
* Dipping (If applicable) $1.20 + GST per head

Q. What paperwork do we need to sell cattle at a Sale?

A. All cattle Sales require -

  • A fully accredited NVD that has your PIC number printed on it by computer.
    Editions C0309, C0708, C0507. If you do not have one of these forms you will need to phone the MLA on 1800 683 111 or visit: www.mla.com.au/LPA to order your printed NVD Book or to obtain an Emergency NVD.
  • If you have not sold with us previously, you will also need to complete a Client Details form which can be downloaded from our website or obtained by phoning our office on 54829252.

Pig & Calf Sales require -

  • A fully accredited NVD that has your PIC number printed on it by computer.
    Editions
  • If you are selling Pigs you need to complete a PIG PASS form which can be obtained by phoning Australian Pork 1800 001 458 or visit: www.pigpass.com.au.
  • If you are selling Sheep or Goats you will need a Sheep or Goat NVD. To obtain these forms you will need to phone the MLA on 1800 683 111 or visit: www.mla.com.au/LPA  to order your Sheep or Goat NVD Book or to obtain an Emergency NVD.
  • Once again if you have not sold with us previously, you will also need to complete a Client Details form which can be downloaded from our website or obtained by phoning our office on 54829252.
Q. What time do cattle have to be at the yards ready for sale day?

A. Gympie Meatworks & Liveweight Store Sales

  • Cattle have to be at the Saleyards by 7 pm on the Sunday night prior to Monday’s Sale
  • Yardman are at the yards ready to start receiving cattle at 9 am.

Gympie Pig & Calf Sales

  • Calves, Pigs, Sheep & Goats need to be at the Calf yards by 10 am on the Wednesday Morning.
  • Yardman are at the yards ready to start receiving at 7 am

Woolooga Sales

  •  Curfew is strictly 7pm on the Wednesday Night prior to Thursday’s Sale, Cattle must be at the Woolooga Saleyards before 7 pm.
  • Yardman are at the Woolooga yards ready to start receiving at 12 noon
Q. When are your sales held and what time do they start?

A. Gympie Meatworks & Liveweight Store Sales

  • Sales are held every 2nd Monday at the Gympie Saleyards
  • Meatworks Sale starts at 8 am
  • Liveweight Store Sale starts at 11 am.

Gympie Pig & Calf Sales

  • Sales are held every Wednesday at the Gympie Pig & Calf Yards
  • Sale of Pigs will commence at 10.45 am followed by Sale of Calves immediately after. (approx 11 am) All bobby calves will be sold 1st.

Woolooga Sales

  • Special Sales are held throughout the year – Female Breeder sales & The Annual Weaner Sale
Q. Do cattle need to be fitted with a NLIS tag?

A. Yes all cattle must be fitted with a NLIS device before being transported from Property to Saleyards.

Q. Do cattle need to be branded?

A. Yes if cattle weigh 100kg’s (approx 3 mths) or more they must be branded. Anything under 100 kg’s does not need to be branded.

Q. I recently sold cattle at one of you sales, when can I expect payment?

A. Payment is 10 workings days from the date of sale. We post out a payment remittance to vendors in the post on the day that payment is made.
