A rain reduced yarding of 1200 cattle at Sullivan Livestock’s Gympie sale saw the market dearer for all descriptions. Cattle were drawn from Mt Perry, Maryborough, Aramara, Bauple, Woolooga, Kilkivan, Conondale, Kenilworth, Eumundi and all local areas.

Droughtmaster steers from Elizabeth Pretorius, Bergins Pocket sold for $3.28 to return $1511 and $1486. Droughtmaster steers, 12 months, from Les Howard, Aramara sold for $3.28 to return $1110 and $1088. Droughtmaster steers from the O’Hanlan Family sold for $3.28 ($1096). Droughtmaster steers from Charlie Cousin, Glastonbury sold for $3.30 ($1181). Limousin cross weaner steers from Peter and Sue Johnston, Kin Kin made $3.62 ($1101). Simmental cross steers from Peter Gous sold for $3.70 ($971). Limousin cross steers from Ian and Sharon Brown, Thinoomba made $3.80 ($924). Bazadaise cross steers from Balgree, Goomeri sold for $3.83 ($820). Droughtmaster steers from Alan May, Mt Perry sold for $3.79 to return $796. Limousin cross steers from the Leitch Family, Gympie made $3.61 ($939). Generally, weaner steers sold from $3.20 to $3.85.

Feeder heifers were limited in supply and sold to a top of $3.14, but generally sold from $2.82 to $3.03.

Quality Charbray weaner heifers from Brett Dodds, Hivesville sold for $3.37 to return $846. High grade Brahman heifers from ‘Yenda’, Gayndah sold for $3.69 ($833) and $3.57 ($684). Good conditioned vealer heifers sold from $3.08 to $3.28.

Cows and calves sold to a top of $1400.
