A larger offering of 2271 head at Sullivan Livestock’s Gympie Cattle sale held Monday 11th July, saw the market firm to dearer for all descriptions. Cattle were drawn from Eidsvold, Booubyjan, Tansey, Goomeri, Kilkivan, Woolooga, Maryborough, Aramara, Bauple, Tiaro, Kenilworth, Maleny, Eumundi & all local areas.
Charbray steers from RD & JM Watson, Coolum sold for $3.52 (494kg) to return $1,740. Droughtmaster steers from Jan Mulholland sold for $3.49 (446kg) to return $1,559. Droughtmaster steers from Elizabeth Pretorius, Bergins Pocket sold for $3.51 (417kg) & $3.47 (396kg) to return $1,464 & $1,374. Quality young Charbray steers from Neville & Lyndall Ensbey, Bergins Pocket sold for $3.50 (397kg) to return $1,386. Droughtmaster steers from AD & HM Pratt, Chatsworth sold for $3.53 (452kg) to return $1,598 while their 390kg brothers returned $1,380. Quality Charbray heifers from Neville & Lyndall Ensbey sold for $3.33 or $1,171 while their Brahman x heifers sold for $3.15 or $1,118. Brahman heifers from Ian Hewitt, Tagigan Downs sold for $3.16 ($1,120 & $1,075), $3.15 ($1,110) & $3.14 ($1,085 & $1,082). Shorthorn x heifers from Wilrose Pty Ltd, Netherby sold for $3.13 or $1,012. Limousin x heifers from Ray Zerner, Dagun sold for $3.24 or $1,188. Quality Droughtmaster heifers 12 months from Mick Norman, Glen Echo sold for $3.19 ($849) & $3.25 ($768).
