A rain reduced yarding of 1108 cattle at Sullivan Livestock’s Gympie Sale held Monday 19th September, saw the market dearer for all descriptions. Cattle were drawn from Gin Gin, Goodnight Scrub, Maryborough, Bauple, Aramara, Tansey, Kilkivan, Woolooga, Peachester, Kenilworth, Eumundi & all local areas.
Heavy feeders topped at $3.65 for Droughtmaster steers from Ridgevale Pty Ltd Goomboorian to return $1,661. Limousin x steers from Ray Zerner, Dagun sold for $3.61 or $1,435. Droughtmaster x steers from the Heath Family, Widgee sold for $3.58 or $1,689. Charbray steers with 4 teeth from the Kropp Family, Goodnight Scrub sold for $3.58 & $3.52 to return $1,642 & $1,567. Droughtmaster steers from Robert Ford, Peachester sold for $3.53 & $3.52 to return $1,567, $1,522 & $1,477. Quality Limousin x & Droughtmaster x steers from Johno & Helen McMillan “Nargoon” Kilkivan sold for $3.85 ($1,346 & $1,240). Billroy Farms, Sexton sold Brangus x steers for $3.80 ($1,304). Charbray x steers from Neil Hayward, Sexton sold for $3.60 ($1,395). Droughtmaster steers from R & S Sippel, Theebine sold for $3.87 to return $1,079. Charbray weaner steers from Mt Olive, Kilkivan sold for $3.92 or $998. European x steers from D & J Adams, Gin Gin sold for $3.83 or $890. Droughtmaster steers from K & L Small, Gunalda sold for $3.85 or $890. Droughtmaster steers from Mick Nolan “Coorumbulla” Glen Echo sold for $3.77 or $1,012. Feeder heifers were limited in supply selling to a top of $3.61 for Limousin x heifers from L & T Simpson, Aramara to return $1,228. Limousin x heifers from Ray Zerner, Dagun sold for $3.58 or $1,337. Brangus x heifers from DM & WL Langton. Goomboorian sold for $3.60 or $1,182. Quality young heifers were in great demand selling to a top of $3.91 for Droughtmaster heifers from John & Debbie Blyton, Kin Kin to return $768. Droughtmaster heifers from Bill Tyler, Scrubby Creek sold for $3.89 or $960. Droughtmaster heifers from K & L Small, Gunalda sold for $3.75 or $864. Good conditioned vealer heifers generally sold from $3.55 to $3.76.
