GYMPIE MARKET 19th JULY
Sullivan Livestock yarded a mixed quality
yarding of 1041 cattle at their regular fortnightly
Gympie Cattle Sale held Monday 19th July, where cattle
sold to a dearer market for all descriptions. Cattle
were drawn from Mundubbera, Ban Ban Springs,
Maryborough, Woolooga, Kilkivan, Conondale, Kenilworth &
all local areas.
The Smith Family, Maryborough sold 2
tooth Bullocks for $1.79 to return $1,112. The Radic
Family, Coolum sold 4 tooth to full mouth Bullocks from
$1.72 to $1.77 to return $1,105. Four & six tooth
Bullocks from R Vandoren, Sandy Creek sold for $1.76 &
$1.75 to return $1,063 & $1,054. Droughtmaster x heifers
2 tooth sold for $1.65 or $896. Garglen Brahmans sold a
used Brahman Bull for $1.54 or $1,302.
Older store steers were short in supply &
quality and sold to a top of $1.70. Charbray steers 16
months from the Tinknell Family, Widgee sold for $1.82
to return $671. Limousin x steers 8 months from the Bird
Family, Langshaw sold for $1.96 or $500, while their
sisters sold for $1.86 or $488. Weaner steers generally
sold from $1.70 to $1.97.
Feeder heifers were limited in supply &
sold to a top of $1.68 for Charbray heifers 16 months
from Kandanga returning $574. Angus x heifers 8 months
from the Roberts Family, Kandanga sold for $1.79 or
$414. Generally weaner heifers sold from $1.60 to $1.81.
Only a handful of Cows & Calves were
yarded and sold to a top of $820.

Sullivan Livestock yarded 302 calves to a
dearer market for all better conditioned calves,
especially trade calves. Prime Calves: 6 wks $165
- $250; 10 wks $215 - $278; 3 - 4 mths $275 - $352; 5 -
6 mths $375 - $435. Dairy Calves: $11 - $132; 2 –
4 weeks to $210.
Featuring Next Week – 13 Dairy
heifers, mostly Friesian x (6 - 7 mths)
